Justgivemea Chance
AKA Chance

Chance is a Cinderella story.

My son Brandon has never been very interested in horses until he connected with Miniatures, Then he fell in love.

It so happened that a friend of ours had a trouble pony that she felt would come around with some TLC and understanding.
Brandon and Chance knew they had just been waiting for each other and connected at first sight.

Brandon had been looking at a few ponies he had been offered and all he saw was this silver dappled chocolate palomino that kept following him around like a puppy

He also noticed a black one.
Soon he said, I don't like the black one and he doesn't like me.
(The Black one was a stallion who only had mares on his mind and kept prancing around tossing his head and snorting.)

Then asked where the brown trouble pony was that he had been been told so much about?
Chance stood proud in front of him and thrust his small head into Brandon's hands as if to say " Here I am, I have been waiting for you".

Then Brandon said" who is this pony? This is the one I really like, is he for sale?"
His face lit up when he was told THAT was the problem pony and everyone was surprised at how he acted with Brandon.

Chance,(then called Bucky) pranced his way to the horse trailer and jumped right in.

It was 2 am before we got him home and unloaded but the next morning Brandon wanted to go see Chance bright and early.

I asked Brandon what he was going to call him since he was not a Bucky
Brandon said I don't know, then he told the pony " Lets just give each other a chance, ok Boy?" Thus came his name; Just give me a Chance.

I could go on with this story that unwinds more every day but I could never tell you as well as these photos do.

Getting to know each other

Chance's other new friend Bugs.
sadly Bugs died just a week after this photo was taken

A special moment:
Brandon is telling Chance that tody he will get a body clip and that he wants to learn to drive pony cart.
Do you think Chance understood?

Chance is being a good boy

All cleaned up!

Chance and Brandon talking it over

Brandons coach Diana helps him train Chance
Hey your not Brandon!

Chance all harnessed up

Diana takes the first drive

Brandons first Drive with Chance.

I'm proud to say they now drive all over the place.
Its not uncommon to see Brandon and Chance wondering around together.
Sometimes just out for a walk but other times going for a cart ride around the ranch and frontage roads.

Brandon went on to start training Charm under cart also and she's doing great.

He loves driving minis, all he needed was...a Chance.

Update:
I have found out that Chance is a daddy!
Before he came to my friend he had a pasture mate named Blossom.
By being part of the Facebook group involved with HHH Miniature Horse Rescue and tracing back to Chances second owner I was able to find out that Blossom had an unexpected colt named Pistol
I hope to have a picture of Pistol to add to Chances page soon.
Oh Mr Chance is now a gelding..lol
